Projector ShowBeta

AI assistant (MCP)

Projector Show has a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol), so an AI assistant that supports remote MCP connections can read your house and your music and edit a show for you: "flash the windows on every snare in the chorus", "put a tunnel on the garage for the intro", "make the pumpkin sing this song and dance on the beat".

Connect

  1. In your assistant, add a custom MCP connection (connector) with the address https://projectorshow.com/api/mcp.
  2. It opens a Projector Show sign-in. Sign in and choose Allow connection.
  3. Ask it to list your projects. It can now read and edit the shows in your account.

The connection is to your account only. Access tokens last an hour and renew themselves for 30 days; disconnecting in the assistant revokes them at once. MCP is included with the plan that includes every premium effect; see pricing.

What it can do

  • Read the show: tracks, clips, timing, parameters, keyframes, the music lanes, the house's blocks, faces, regions and the House panel's names (the garage, upstairs windows, the main stage).
  • Edit the show: add, move, split, retime and remove clips, set parameters and keyframe animation, target faces, regions or parts of the house, add and reorder tracks, change the show's name, length, BPM and loop. Every request is applied as one batch and one revision.
  • Light shows on the beat: analyse the song (tempo, beats, bars, sections, kicks, snares and hats), list the faces left to right as the projector sees them, and sequence face changes per section (chase, bounce, alternate, build, random, the whole house per bar). It plans first and applies when you say so.
  • Characters: read what a character can do, set the mouth from the real vocals, align the words, place expressions, moves and glances on the beat, and check the performance for conflicts and gaps.
  • Check the result: list what is broken or hard to see from an audience spot, and render a few still frames of the show to look at.
  • Undo: the latest MCP edit can be undone, and every version stays in Revisions, where assistant edits are labelled.

It cannot publish a show, export a render, change what a projector is playing, or send its own code: every edit goes through the same typed, validated operations the designer uses.

While it edits

A designer tab with the show open checks for newer revisions every 30 seconds and when it regains focus. If the assistant changed the show, a notice appears next to the save status: Load latest opens the new version (asking first if you have unsaved changes) and Keep mine keeps your copy, so your next save replaces the assistant's.

Things that help

  • Name the faces in the House panel first. "The garage" and "the upstairs windows" only mean something once the house says so.
  • Put the song on the timeline before asking for a light show, and say which part of the song you mean.
  • Ask for a plan before it applies anything big; a sequenced light show can be hundreds of clips, and one undo reverts it.
